La Verrière

“This project positions Europlaza as the place to go in an uncertain market”

La Verrière is now a bright winter garden room which, like the Café Lounge, stays open all day for coffee and meetings and is a popular destination at lunch. Previously a uniform continuation of the bland main dining space, La Verrière needed spatial definition and its own character.

We introduced long banquettes, turning views and attention away from Le Square and towards the garden to encourage its contemplation. We designed low panelled dividing walls to hold plants which softly screen and provide privacy. Earthy tones of mustard and green, dark surfaces and matt textures serve to absorb the brightness of this space and provide continuity with nature outside. New brise soleils help to balance light levels between La Verrière and Le Square and conceal cables to a new lighting scheme. This space, which seats 100, also works as a nursery for the regular rotation of plants between dark and light areas of the restaurant scheme.
